Much better than I expected in that it was very empathetic to all concerned and I had expected it to be more of an emotional roller coaster. I’m glad it wasn’t. It was very thoughtful and considered rather than sensational.

Brilliant choice, fantastic actors and the main character should get a Bafta for his performance! The swearing became secondary as the storytelling was engrossing and an eye opener in to what Tourette Syndrome is, especially for those that suffer with it and the larger community that don't understand it. One of the best films this season!

My favourite film of the season. Amazing acting and so good humoured. The film gave me a better understanding of the life of someone with Tourette’s in the unforgiving eighties. It just took a couple of people with a different perspective to change his life.
Mixed Feelings?
At times hard to watch, but important to understand especially the challenges to people growing up and living with this. It would have helped if a clearer explanation of the causes was given, especially in the light of what seemed a sudden change from living a more normal adolescence, and also some clarification of the way the Nottingham research worked, and apparently could benefit some people.
Very well-judged analysis of the life of a Tourette's syndrome sufferer, with superb performances from the 2 lead actors. The film managed to achieve a fine balance between the use of humour and empathy without falling into insensitivity or sentimentality. Just slightly too long.
