A beautiful and realistic film with many aspects to it. A good story line too.

Outstanding - tender moving story, beautifully acted.

Definitely the highlight of the season so far!  A thoughtful and moving film exploring grief through the lens of a couple who weren't entirely committed to each other. Although very sad the lighter moments gave some relief. The sort of film that lingers in the memory and were more common at CFS a few years ago perhaps?

Lovely film; the final frames leaving one with the hope that they would stay together, their marriage strengthened by the trials each had endured, both separately and together.

Brilliant!! It covered everything in human relationships. Every emotion, tragedy, life, even space for black comedy all in one short film. Excellent acting & filming too!

Impactful interesting story line. fascinating insight into Japanese culture.

It was well acted and had lots of unexpected twists and turns. It gave a window on Japanese culture, while also providing insights to universal concerns of grief, loss and dying. The song that inspired it was beautiful and touching.

Enjoyable, good acting, unpredictable.

Quietly moving. A great insight into Japanese life & exploration of characters’ actions & emotions up close.

Really enjoyed it - quite gentle but lots of important themes addressed and tackled really sympathetically.

Mixed Feelings?

Extremely poignant and at times hard to watch. I found the repressed nature of the relationship quite depressing.

Some parts of the film seemed a bit disjointed & didn’t hang together. Excellent subtitles!

Perhaps a little long but nonetheless an interesting portrayal of profound grief on the key characters.

A slow burn kind of film, I thought a lot more about the themes over the following days.

An interesting look at Japanese life, unlike any I have previously seen. Mostly sad, but the protagonists were convincing. The ending was hopeful.

Negative

It was okay but it was too long, not something I would watch again.

Too slow and ponderous but I liked the sentiments.

Not terrible.

A sad but also humorous film. Rather long and drawn out in places.
