Very moving, a good mix of humour and sadness. Interesting study of adopted brothers brought up in very different families and social situations.
A very life affirming film, if a bit schmaltzy. Good fun - and first time this season that the audience clapped at the end.
Lovely film with a feelgood ending despite the poignancy.
This was a great film to finish the season on. The film glossed over the shock of finding out about being adopted and having a biological brother and not the sister he had grown up with. However, this would have made it a very different film. The humour and how the brothers dealt each other was very well done, by focussing on what they had in common - music. I found this a very uplifting film even though the end result was that there was no cure for the cancer. The brothers brought out the best in each other and were able to bond over music even though their type of music was different, most probably due to their different childhood situations.
You saved the best film until the last. Absolutely loved it. Great storyline and variety of music, and acting.
Engaging characters, good story, gentle humour and great music what is not to like. A thoroughly enjoyable film.
It was the most feel good film of the season. Beautiful acting and real insight into the skill of a conductor. I loved the punchy humour at the start and then the humour abated to move to more serious themes. Both brothers struggled with their situation but their mutual love of music helped them to make peace with their differences and find common ground.
One if the best films of this season. Funny, poignant and so well acted.
Just what I needed; a real feel-good film with likeable and well portrayed characters.

A charming film to finish the season. Funny, touching, well acted and with some wonderful music, the film makes a serious point about how much luck underpins life chances. There was a well deserved round of applause at the end of the film. 2025/6 has been a particularly good season. Thanks very much to the CFS team and your hard work.
Fabulous, endearing film to end the season on after a few darker films. The storyline was done very well to compare the characters lives and experiences. He who had nothing actually had it all. Thibault & Jimmy’s relationship since finding out about each other was done tastefully showing the foibles, vulnerability and the relationship between the two men. The light hearted moments brought comedy to the film. It was good to see that music talks to all people of all backgrounds.
It was an absolutely lovely film - drew the audience in from the very beginning. Believable, excellent actors, beautiful music. Compelling and uplifting, sad and engaging. Favourite for this season’s programme definitely.

Loved the film. A sensitive handling of a number of issues and the two leads were superb.
Such a good film both in its castings and deliverance. The two brothers Thibaut and Jimmy were so perfect in their roles, both as sensitive as each other but their different upbringings made them very different in character.
Mixed Feelings?
A suitable film to end the season on! The exploration of the relationship between the two brothers and their different circumstances was very interesting. The various sub stories about the strike and orchestra didn't hold my attention so much. The ending was uplifting although a tad over the top!
A warm film with good characters. I liked the way the scenes followed along in a sprightly manner, each scene interesting and humorous. Towards the end they agglomerated in a slightly hackneyed mush, but all in all an enjoyable film.
A delightful film with a really good emotional ending. This was at the top end of the "good" category and with a little more character and plot development it would have become "excellent". A marvellous choice for the end of season presentation.

At the time I was greatly affected by it and would've given 'Excellent'. Today I recall some unlikely events, errors and inconsistencies but still enjoyed it (and recommended to a friend in Montreal).
